Many not-for-profits seek to improve lives by changing the systems around us. Engaging with government is critical for achieving this.
We recently reviewed some partnerships and spoke to experts to better understand how funders can best support our partner organisations in their government engagement.
The review covered 17 grants (made prior to March 2023) totalling $46.7m, which shared a clear objective of achieving policy/legislative change.
Through literature reviews, expert interviews, and analysis of PRF-supported campaigns, PRF developed a model of ‘foundational support’ to assist partners to be able to take advantage of policy windows when they open.
