The "Links to Early Learning" evaluation report assesses the program funded by the Paul Ramsay Foundation, aimed at improving access to early childhood education for disadvantaged families. Conducted independently by Parenting Research Centre, the evaluation covers the program's operation from June 2018 to December 2021.
It highlights how tailored support effectively addresses barriers to early learning, with over 142 children enrolled in early childhood education and care (ECEC) who might not have participated without the program. The program excels in targeting and reaching the intended cohorts, resolving barriers to ECEC access, and sustaining participation until school entry.
The evaluation points out areas for improvement, such as data collection practices, systemic advocacy, and coping with increasing referrals. Despite these challenges, the program stands out for meeting community needs with an evidence-based design, contributing significantly to social impact by enhancing children's education access, parental confidence, and overall family well-being.
