Victorian Aboriginal Child Care Agency

The Victorian Aboriginal Child Care Agency (VACCA) is the lead Aboriginal child and family welfare organisation and the largest provider of Aboriginal Family Violence services in Victoria. We have protected and promoted the rights of Aboriginal children and young people since 1976. Our objective is to provide Aboriginal children, young people and their families culturally safe services premised on the principle of self-determination, through over 75 different programs across the state, that are delivered in a trauma informed and therapeutic approach so as to support culturally strong, safe, and thriving Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

What are we doing?

Deadly Lovin’ Healthy, Respectful Relationships Program

Deadly Lovin’ is a program for 12–17 year-old Aboriginal young people that teaches the basis of healthy respectful (‘deadly’) relationships. The program aims to prevent the cycle of family violence that is overrepresented in Aboriginal communities by improving the understanding of healthy respectful relationships at a time when young people are getting to know more about who they are and where they sit within their familiar and social circles.
