Micah projects

The goal of Brisbane Domestic Violence Services (BDVS) is to support any adult or child to reach a stage where they are safe and free from fear of Domestic and Family Violence (DFV). We provide a range of services, including information and referral, crisis support, practical assistance, advocacy, and emotional support. We work to provide a safe environment in which people can access our services, providing support in the way that best meets need — over the phone, online, or by visiting in the home or at a safe place in the community. Micah Projects is a not-for-profit organisation committed to providing services and opportunities in the community to create justice and respond to injustice.

What are we doing?

Every woman, every child safe and healthy start

This funding will continuously work towards breaking down further barriers within BDVS by providing in depth services to at risk pregnant women and early years children, with a focus on marginalized groups who face compounding barriers in regards health outcomes, housing stability, child protection responses disruptions to family dynamics. It will further increase DFV advocacy to amplify voices of at risk pregnant women, increase consent, and contribute to better system responses.
