Centre for Non-Violence

Established in 1990, the Centre for Non-Violence (CNV) has been delivering quality, highly regarded specialist family violence and homelessness programs for women and children, and since 2005, for men. Starting as a single worker service, CNV has now grown to over 100 staff, delivering prevention, early intervention, response and recovery services across the Loddon Area of Central Victoria. CNV was the first service in Australia to fully integrate women’s, children’s and men’s services, and is one of few fully integrated models in Australia. CNV continues to lead, innovate and incorporate best practice models into our response to and prevention of family violence. At CNV we strive for gender and social equality in a violence-free world.

What are we doing?

Growing Futures for Children and Young People

The Growing Futures program will centre children and young people’s experiences of DFV in case management practice, recognising and responding to children and young people as victim survivors in their own right. We will establish a dedicated Case Manager who will specifically work with and better support children and young people. This role will strengthen our Tertiary Response Team’s work with children, building and restoring safe, respectful, supportive and healthy relationships that enable children to recover and thrive.
