The late Paul Ramsay AO established the Foundation in his name in 2006 and, after his death in 2014, left most of his estate to continue his philanthropy for generations to come.
At PRF we believe in a world where all people can live their best lives. Our purpose is to help end cycles of disadvantage in Australia by enabling equitable opportunity for people and communities to thrive.
As one of the largest philanthropic foundations in Australia, we take our social responsibility seriously and aim to make a lasting contribution to positive change.
We invest in and partner with organisations and communities across Australia that focus on enabling people and places to thrive. We build the capability of organisations and the for-purpose sector and we aim to influence through collaboration and advocacy.
We grant and invest in communities and organisations across Australia.
We are committed to building insights, data, knowledge, and capability in the areas where we're working.
We aim to positively influence policy and outcomes through collaboration and advocacy.
Meet our partners
Ending cycles of disadvantage is an enormously complex challenge that cannot be solved alone, quickly, or with simple solutions. It’s why we collaborate with communities and organisations to collectively disrupt disadvantage, recognise and build on strengths, and enable opportunities for people and communities to thrive.
Since 2016, we have committed more than $800 million in grant funding to 200 partners.
We commission research to help us take an evidence-based approach to our philanthropy, and share knowledge and insights with those who can translate it into meaningful action.
We take a targeted approach to grant-making, working alongside organisations and our philanthropic peers to create change together.
We collaborate with people, communities and organisations who like us, believe in a world where all people can live their best lives.
We fund short and long-term projects from early exploration to substantial investment to achieve change.
