Sacha Edema

Sacha Edema is the Foundation’s Head of Government Affairs. She works to achieve impact through effective advocacy and strong alliances with government and purpose-aligned organisations.

Prior to joining the Foundation, Sacha was Executive Director of Policy at the National Mental Health Commission. During nearly a decade of service in the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet, Sacha held many roles working at the centre of government on issues including Indigenous affairs, counter-terrorism, mental health, social impact investing, and fiscal policy.

In 2020, Sacha was Chief of Staff of the National COVID-19 Commission, and led the Conran Review taskforce commissioned by National Cabinet to redesign Australia’s federal relations architecture following the cessation of COAG.  Sacha holds degrees in Arts and Law from the University of Sydney. Sacha is an avid field hockey player with a love of sci fi and historical fantasy novels and a healthy obsession with travel.
